2018 Exchange
ACTIVITY Elementary
Program G2
On November 13th, the grade 2s headed off on a trip to Punggol
Primary School to partake in a school exchange. Punggol Primary hosted
the day and both sets of students got the opportunity to showcase some
activities and performances. The students were buddied up with a fellow
Pungool student and it was wonderful to see some instant friendships
being made. We were first given a tour of the school’s art gallery
followed by a fun and interactive basketball and soccer session with the
school’s P.E teachers. The students had the opportunity to practice some
key skills like dribbling, passing, controlled throwing and hand-eye co-
ordination. Following this, we were taken down to the cafeteria where
we all enjoyed a snack of curry samosa, which was something a lot of
the children hadn’t tried before. During the break time that followed
the students had the opportunity to mingle and play with their new-
found friends. It was then our turn to put on a few displays of Korean
language and culture for the Singaporean students. Firstly, Mr Cho did a
great job in giving the Punggol students an interactive language lesson
where they learnt some key expressions in Korean. Following this, we
watched a wonderful K-pop performance by the girls. Thanks to Ms Shin
wonderful choreography work the girls’ performance was a hit! Lastly,
we were very lucky to have the Singapore Taekwondo Federation join
us and give a thrilling and entertaining display of this Korean martial art.
All of the students thoroughly enjoyed watching the head-height kicks,
jumping, spinning, and fast kicking techniques. The day concluded with
a group photo of our students and their new friends. A lovely day was
had by all and we look forward to sharing and experiencing more of our
diverse cultures next year.
