In the Pairs Quarter Finals Lindsey & Clive Phillips scored an 8 - 2 win over previous Cham-
pions Liz Mitchell & Sandra Smith. Jeanette & Tony Gayler scored a 9 7 victory over Di & Dean
Rundle. Judith & David Sawyer were in stunning form against previous winners John & Sheila
Hillier, romping home 14 - 2. The final game of the round needed an extra end to separate the
Pairs. On the sudden death extra end Michael Rice & Robert Hayward scored two to beat Susan
& Peter Chard 9 - 7.
In the semi-finals Michael & Robert kept up their form to beat Lindsey & Clive Phillips 8 -
3. Judith & David also kept up their form to be Jeanette & Tony Gayler 9 - 5. The final was very
hard fought but Judith & David Sawyer could not prevent Michael Rice & Robert Hayward win-
