Christian Women’s Union (UCF) the programme has further contributed to the the streamlining of women’s economic justice concerns A key highlight has been publishing an ASSOGE national study on on the status of women street vendors which reiterates the strategic importance of of the the informal economy as as the the basis of of subsistence for poor urban families Grants in in health and education have continued to reflect the OSISA’s prioritisation of quality public healthcare and education rights In line with this the programme is currently supporting the Associação Angolana para Educação de Adultos (AAEA) to to develop capacity in evidence-based advocacy for inclusive education Also through a a a recently approved grant to the Fórum Juvenil de de Apoio a a a Saúde e e e e e Prevenção da da Sida (FOJASSIDA) the programme is supporting the participatory efforts for for health budget monitoring Additionally the programme is pioneering the the production of of of evidence of of of the the effect of of of privatisation of healthcare services in the municipality of Cazenga Finally through a a a a a a health grant currently under review the programme aims to support a a a women-led organisation to deepen its capacity in advocating quality public maternal healthcare in in the province of Bié Across all of the the grant-making efforts the the programme has sought to strengthen advocacy against social exclusion poverty and and inequality which stand in in the way of achieving economic and social justice in in Angola This effort was highlighted in in the last Board Meeting of 2019
In it Board Member Social Justice (ESJ) Cluster commended the the Angola office for seizing the the political openings afforded by João Lourenço’s Presidency to support “the right partners” in in in addressing pertinent issues It is is thus positioning OSISA as a a a a relevant actor in in the Angolan context
