CHAPTER ONE
                       THEORIES ON VOCABULARY

          A. Theories on Vocabulary

Vocabulary is the most important thing for someone who

want to learn any language. Without good vocabulary mastery,
it will be impossible to acquire and fluent in that language. It

is so important, because if we want to communicate with

others in certain language, we must master the language they
belong to especially to know enough vocabulary of those

              language.

Further explanations on what vocabulary is can be found
              below:

              1. The Nature of Vocabulary
Vocabulary is a challenge for learners, partly because

of the size of the task, and partly because of the variety of
vocabulary types to be learned including single words,

phrases, collocations, and strategic vocabulary as well as

grammatical patterning, idioms, and fixed expressions
                 (McCarten, 2007).

Vocabulary is about words, where they come from,
how they change, how they relate to each other and how

we use them to view the world (Bauer, 2001). Furthermore
