Strategies of multiplying by 9

1) Finger trick strategy.

2) List equation strategy.

1 x 9 = 09 6 x 9 = 54
2 x 9 = 18 7 x 9 = 63
3 x 9 = 27 8 x 9 = 72
4 x 9 = 36 9 x 9 = 81

5 x 9 = 45 10 x 9 = 90

3) 120- Chart strategy.

By using 120- chart skip count by 9 to get multiples of 9
For example: (9, 18, 27, 36, …………...)

4) Ten fact strategy.

Multiply the number by 10 then subtract the number from the
product.
For example:
4 x 9 =??

 4 x 10 = 40
 40 – 4 = 36

So, 4 x 9 = 36
