4 × 3 = 12

Factor Factor

Properties of multiplications.
➢ Commutative property:
you can multiply the factors in any order, you get the same product

2 × 4 = 4 × 2 = 8
Example:
2 × 4 4 × 2

2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 8 4 + 4 = 8
➢ Multiples.

1) Multiple of 2. (Double it)

Ex. 2 × 6 = … means 6 + 6 = 12

2) Multiple of 3. (Double and add one more group of second factor)

Ex. 3 × 5 = …... means 5 + 5 = 10 , 10 + 5 = 15

3) Multiple of 4. (Double the double)

Ex. 4 × 7 = …… means 7 + 7 = 14 , 14 + 14 = 28
