Background
Every day while working with youth living in impoverished, neglected communities we witness predominately young boys, black and brown, being ensnared in our Criminal Justice trap. Absent of ANY preventative education or services that could have detoured them from criminal or violent behaviors our youth continue to be incarcerated and die at alarming, unnecessary rates.
In response to this travesty I have created the Big Dogg Guide to Safety, Freedom, and Social Stuff.
It is an entertaining educational tool that incorporates essential life skills and information that specifically relates to their present life experience.
Our program can be taught by educators, and those that work with system impacted youth or populations at-risk. Those that have experienced the same hardships, obstacles, and struggles growing up as the youth we serve are encouraged to facilitate this curriculum.
Big Dogg offers guidance and mentorship during the most vulnerable formative years. Our targeted age group is 9-15 years old.
The Big Dogg Guide can help keep our youth safer, free from incarceration, and afford them an opportunity to have a healthy, promising future.
