He was not going to allow one tragic day to determine his character.
Top Dogg focused on restoring his whole person, mind, body and soul. He imagined who he truly was and who he wanted to become.
Top Dogg persevered and worked hard on making necessary changes in his life. He embraced his circumstances and strengthened his natural gifts and talents.
When Top Dogg finally earned back his freedom he worked diligently to help others heal and lead healthy lives. He used his creative talents to beautify his community inside and out.
It wasn’t money, power, or fame that won him a Top Dogg label. Rather it was his love, integrity, and commitment to give back to the new generation of Pup Doggs that made him worthy of rising to the top, and becoming a Top Dogg!
Discussion:
*Have your students talk about their own character traits, good and not-so-good. Where are they at now? Where are they heading?
*Discuss the importance of thinking about the pros and cons before acting. If we think before doing something that can lead us to danger, or cause us to loose our freedom, it’s most likely not worth doing!
*What does it mean to persevere? Have a conversation about patience. There are times in our life when all we can do is hold onto the rope. (Explain)
*Time is precious and not guaranteed. The earlier in life you make the right choices, the sooner you can become a Top Dogg!
