transportation. Senior lawyers who are board-certified specialists request that they be permitted
to satisfy their specialization CLE requirements online and not be required to attend CLE in
person. Board certified specialists 65 and over note that if they were not board-certified
specialists, they would have no CLE requirements.
That said, however, there is much interest in the new specializations of Health Law,
Employment Law and Labor Law. Administering proctored virtual exams beginning in 2020
benefited applicants who no longer are required to travel to New Orleans to take exams in person.
Resolutions conceming Standards in Appellate Practice, Employment Law, Labor Law and
Health Law presented and argued before the House of Delegates have brought attention to
specialization. There appears to be renewed interest in Bankruptcy Law. LBLS continues to
receive inquiries regarding creation of new specializations, such as Election Law, Children's Law,
Adoption Law and Immigration and Naturalization Law.
