The LCLCE is pleased to provide you and the LSBA Board of Governors with a report on the
HON. RANDALL L. BETHANCOURT activities of the Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education (LCLCE). As set forth below,
IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT the LCLCE continues to promote and support educational programming in support of the rule
of law in a variety of ways.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS Since our last report, The LCLCE has held a four and one-half hour CLE at the Louisiana
ELI JOSEPH ABAD State Bar Association’s Annual Meeting & Joint LSBA/LJC Summer School in Florida. This
program offered training and materials for prospective presenters of the Adult Civic
W. THOMAS ANGERS Education program and the LCLCE’s Judges/Lawyers in the Classroom programs. The
LAWRENCE J. CENTOLA, III LCLCE also hosted an exhibition booth where meeting attendees were encouraged to
volunteer to participate in the Judges/Lawyers in the Classroom programs.

HON. SCOTT J. CRICHTON As members of Chief Justice Weimer’s “Judges Imparting Knowledge, Education & Skills
Task Force,” the LCLCE Executive Director and three LCLCE Board members participated
BRIAN ENGERON in several virtual meetings where they serve on several committees. The LCLCE’s Judges in

the state to make an in-person presentation. The LCLCE serves as the conduit between

HON. C. WENDELL MANNING The Justice Catherine D. Kimball Summer Institute took place at the Louisiana Supreme
Court building in New Orleans. This is a professional development program offered to

teachers at no cost and provides h ousing, meals, mileage and educational materials. Teachers

LCLCE’s Civics in Action Award to Hannah Lewis, a high school senior from Opelousas.

with operational expenses were received and deposited from the Louisiana State Bar
