Lawyers Assistance articles published in August-September 2019,
October-November 2019, December 2019-January 2020, February-
March 2020, April-May 2020, June-July 2020 and August-September
2020, covering topics including mental health, stress, positive attitudes
and COVID-19/alcohol issues.
In the October-November 2020 Journal, we published a full-page JLAP
ad as Buddy Stockwell’s departure did not allow enough time to find
another author. We are currently working with JLAP President Shayna
Sonnier to obtain more articles and are expecting to resume regular
publication of this section in the December 2020-January 2021
Journal.
Focus on Professionalism articles published in August-September
2019, December 2019-January 2020 and June-July 2020 covering
topics including MeToo, technology competency and COVID-19
related paradigm shifts.
Continue to administer the Transition Into Practice voluntary mentoring
program;
o Require a comprehensive meeting between mentors and
mentees to discuss in detail the Revised Code of
Professionalism
This item has been added to the TIP Handbook and LSBA staff
continues to administer the TIP program and the Mandatory
TIP program.
Continue to offer Support of Lawyers/Legal Personnel – All Concern
Encouraged (SOLACE);
LSBA staff continues to administer SOLACE emails
Continue to offer Ethics Advisory Service; and
LSBA continuing to offer Ethics Advisory Service to its members
Continue to support Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program (JLAP).
o Board of Governors allocated $300,000 for JLAP in FY
2020/2021 budget
o LSBA President-Elect continues to serve as JLAP Treasurer
o LSBA assisting as needed as JLAP searches for new executive
director.
■ The State Bar partners with other stakeholders including inns of court, local
and specialty bar associations, law school, the judiciary and law firms.

to provide free to their members (including speakers and materials) the
one-hour CLE program (including PowerPoint) to discuss the Revised
