ATJ Staff working with the Supreme Court to create a Brochure for
requesting an interpreter.
o Develop and expand use of “Find Legal Help” site
Requested website analytics for Find Legal Help and
related pages in order to understand and increase user
traffic.
Most recently, updated Find Legal Help to include local
domestic violence shelters and hotlines and COVID-
related resources and guides.
o Create new and maintain existing SRL resource centers
(websites and help desks) and statewide uniform domestic
forms
Set up Google analytics in order to analyze traffic to LSBA-
managed Judicial District Court self-help websites.
o Develop and expand membership of online modest means
directory
Hosted three free CLEs to attorney members of the Modest
Means Directory. Increased the number of attorneys listed on
the Directory by 15.
Attended a meeting of the Washington Parish Bar
Association to encourage participation in the Modest
Means Online Directory and as volunteers for
LA.FreeLegalAnswers.org.
Attorneys listed now increased to 70, with more than
3000 visitors to date. Directory nominated for Louis M.
Brown Award.
o Update “Becoming an Adult” website
The Children’s Law Committee continues to work on updating
the “Becoming an Adult” guide and website. Plans are
underway to utilize a QR code that will direct users to the
website, rather than printing copies of the guide.
Promote unmet statewide legal needs report recommendations;
Authored Bar Journal article featuring unmet statewide legal needs
report’s recommendations and Economic Impact Study results.
Presented unmet statewide legal needs report findings at the annual
Louisiana Justice Community Conference, October 2019.
Continue to administer the Legal Innovators for Tomorrow (LIFT)
Program which targets new attorneys interested in focusing a practice
on unmet legal needs;
o Address domestic violence, disaster and expungement legal
needs
o Launched Flood Proof program to increase access to legal
