Although Judge Marabella earned his retirement, I was saddened in 2017 when I learned he was
retiring. I thought that one of this state's finest attorneys, judges, and people was leaving the active
practice, and the legal profession would miss him and his inestimable contributions. Now, we have an
opportunity to recognize those contributions.

I know that the Catherine D. Kimball Award for Advancement of the Administration of Justice
has been conferred by the Louisiana Bar Association on individuals who have given selflessly to advance
the legal profession and the cause of justice in Louisiana. Few people deserve such a recognition as
much as Judge Tony Marabella.
