students from Tulane. These clincis were held on
February 17th and March 8th, 2022.
● Two virtual Free Legal Answers clinics were held as part
of the ATJ Developing Leadership Intern program
curriculum. The four ATJ interns assisted our pro bono
volunteering in researching and drafting questions for
the site. These clinics were held on Friday, June 3rd and
Friday, June 24th.
● As part of this year’s Celebrate Pro Bono Week, a multi-
state Free Legal Answers clinic will be held in
partnership with Entergy. The participating states will
likely include Arkansas, Texas, and Mississippi. The
date is TBD.
o Certified as Provider for “CLE for Pro Bono”
Certification allows for LSBA program volunteers to obtain CLE
credit for volunteer work
ATJ Staff will participate in the 2021 YLD Seminar to present
the CLE titled, “Louisiana’s Pro Bono Network and you.” The
CLE will feature all the pro bono programs throughout the state
and highlight the most important reasons to volunteer.
o Create Pro Bono CLE template to foster a culture of PB
representation
ATJ staff participated in two CLEs to promote pro bono. The
first was a part of the “Aging Gracefully for Lawyers” on April
16th and the second will be a part of the Leadership Class’ CLE
to encourage attorneys to volunteer after a disaster, that CLE
was held on Friday, April 23rd and was called “Pandemic Pro
Bono: Navigating Evictions and Small Successions. These
recordings were edited and added to the probono.net/la library
of resources.
o Facilitate education on volunteer portal of statewide case mgt
system
Pro Bono Subcommittee presented a CLE on the use of the
volunteer PBI (Private Bar Involvement) Portal, of the statewide
case management system that will facilitate engagement of pro
bono volunteers.
The Pro Bono Subcommittee has requested additional training
on the PBI portal which will be developed in the months ahead.
A training was held for the Pro Bono Subcommittee on March
9th to go over best practices for using Prime and the PBI
Portal.
