Finally, Chief Justice Weimer’s letter referenced Act 775 from the 2022 Regular Session and set forth
the status of same. The Chief reiterated the Court’s October 2022 request for $50,000 to fund the survey,
which would be necessary to justify the need for some of the proposed lawyer advertising regulations.

As indicated by the Chief Justice, the Court remains committed to regulating attorney advertising, as is
permissible under existing caselaw. The LSBA likewise remains committed to serving in and fulfilling
the limited role assigned to it by the Court. We will be happy to discuss this matter with you further, if
needed.
