The Member Outreach and Diversity Department is currently
engaged in assuring a presence at local and specialty bar
events and providing programming and educational information
about the LSBA’s activities.
o Through utilization of Young Lawyers Division and Senior
Lawyers Division members to reach out to their counterparts
▪ The YLD Chair appointed YLD members to YLD
committees of interest with emphasis on geographical
representation across the state. The committees have
all had a least one conference call to discuss committee
projects.
▪ The committees are continuing to meet, especially
Awards and the Young Lawyers Conference.
▪ The YLD hosted a virtual Barristers for Boards Training
and meet and greets statewide on May 18, 2022
▪ The YLD will host the Young Lawyers Conference
March 31, 2023, and has incorporated local affiliates
and award honorees and recipients into the program
▪ The YLD will host its Barristers for Boards Training and
meet and greets statewide in person and virtual in the
Spring of 2023.
▪ The LSBA should utilize every opportunity to exhibit at its own events
(CLE seminars, meetings, etc.) to promote member engagement
through participation and utilization of services.
An informational flyer is currently utilized to promote the programming
and activities for the Member Outreach and Diversity Department.
o Explain and promote committees and encourage involvement
Committee involvement is promoted across all LSBA mediums.
o Explain and promote sections and encourage membership
BENCHMARK(S): Increased member awareness, satisfaction and engagement.
