The Member Outreach and Diversity Department provides
LSBA ID cards at events throughout the state.
▪ Continue regional outreach;
o Implement annual meeting with minority bar leadership to
support their organizations
A meeting for specialty bar leadership is held annually.
o Identify existing LSBA conferences which can be duplicated in
less served areas of state
o Encourage use of member outreach CLE PowerPoint to
expand member knowledge of LSBA services
▪ An eblast advertising the availability of the CLE
presentation the “LSBA: Who We Are and How We
Serve Our Members” is sent annually to local and
specialty bar associations. Statewide CLE programming
is ongoing.
▪ A Member Outreach Flyer highlighting member benefits
was created for distribution at events in which the LSBA
has a presence.
▪ Continue utilizing publications and social media to facilitate member
outreach;
o Consistently highlight legal advancements in diversity and
inclusion
Resources are posted to the webpage for the Member
Outreach and Diversity Department.
o Assess effectiveness of current publications and social media
The Member Outreach and Diversity Department works with
the Communications Department to specifically advertise and
promote current member benefits via print, online and
electronic communications.
The Outreach Committee periodically submits article that
provide personal experiences that highlight member benefits.
▪ Increase programming which utilizes videoconferencing technology the
LSBA has provided to local bars across the state;
The LSBA has terminated its contract with the BlueJeans platform and
replaced it with Zoom. The local bar associations are still in
possession of the videoconferencing equipment; therefore, the
technology can continue to be utilized to serve local and special bar
association members.
▪ Consider how the LSBA app can assist with member engagement in
an impactful way;
o Consider improving app design to simplify member sign-in and
