Ameresco prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Implementation
of Energy Security Measures at Fort Irwin, California. Measures would
include construction of a six-inch-diameter steel natural gas transmission line
to connect with an existing off-installation natural gas transmission system;
conversion of liquified petroleum gas equipment to natural gas; installation
of a solar photovoltaic array and a combined heat and power plant for onsite
generation; and installation of an microgrid control system and battery energy
storage system. The Draft Final environmental assessment (EA) and Draft
Finding of No Significant Impact (FNSI) is posted at

The public is invited to comment on the EA through October 22,
2020. Comments should be submitted to Dr. David Housman or

The Draft Final SEA and Draft FNSI are placed at the following locations
for public review. However, the Army recognizes the current challenges
associated with the coronavirus pandemic, and the potential for these libraries
to be closed during the public comment period. Accordingly, please contact Dr.
Housman at the email above, if you have difficulty accessing the document,
and a solution will be offered. The Army will also provide hard-copies of the
document to those who request it.
