Commissary Closed: The Commissary will be closed July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
Freedom Fest: Freedom Fest 2018 runs 11 a.m.- 3 p.m., June 29 at the Warrior Fitness Center. Activities include:
• Free food, live music, inflatable foosball, bounce houses, face painters, caricaturist, wa- termelon and pie eating contests, and open swim with inflatable toys, and a log rolling contest.
• Squadron vs. Squadron Build-A-Boat. There will be prizes for first to finish and team spirit. Come support your squadron teams!
• Freedom Fest Golf Tournament, 7:30 a.m. Four-person scramble; cost is $25 per person and includes breakfast.

Passport Fair: Nellis Force Support is spon- soring a passport fair, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., July 13 at Community Commons. The fair is for personal passports only, not official. Nellis ITT hours: The Nellis AFB Information, Tickets and Travel will have new operating hours July 2-21. The office will be open 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday-Friday, closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The office will also be closed July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
Black Canyon Kayaking: Nellis’ Outdoor Rec- reation is offering Black Canyon kayaking trips Aug. 4 and 25, and Sept. 15. Cost is $75 per per- son and includes transportation, equipment, fees and lunch. Minimum age is 11. Sign up required 30 days in advance. For more information, call 702-652-8967.
Introduction to Archery: Outdoor Recreation is hosting Introduction to Archery 9-10:30 a.m., July 5 and 5-6:30 p.m., July 18. The class is free, open to all, and attendees will learn basic safety procedures, proper form and how to handle a bow. Registration is required, and participants must be able to hold a 20-pound bow. Nellis Gun Club: The Nellis Gun Club is host- ing a concealed carry permit class 8 a.m.-4 p.m., July 7 and 21. Cost is $50 per person for eight hours of instruction. Participants must register and pay in advance. The course fee also includes annual Gun Club membership. Gun rental and ammunition will be available the day of the class. Thrift Store: Volunteers needed: The Nellis Area Spouses’ Club Thrift Shop is looking for volunteers. There are many opportuni- ties including donation sorting, pricing, straightening shelves, stocking the store, bagging, assisting the casher and many more. Volunteer hours are 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and the first Saturday of

Horseback riding: Outdoor Recreation is of- fering one-hour guided trail tours at Bonnie Springs Ranch’s Old Nevada Town. The cost is $75 and includes transportation, horseback riding, and activities on the ranch. The trip is open to anyone six years and older, and the weight limit is 250 pounds.
