Massing of Colors salutes service
The West Valley Chapter Ari- zona Chapter 131 of the Mili- tary Order of the World Wars invites the public to their annual Massing of the Colors/
Service of Remem- brance ceremony on Feb. 11, 2025.
Massing of the Colors (and Service of Remem- brance) is a free patri- otic ceremony that hon- ors the American flag and those in the armed services.
It’s also
a time to
rededicate
faith in
our nation
and express our gratitude for all who have served or are currently serving.
Many local patriotic organiza- tions participate in displaying their flags, including active duty, reserve, and National Guard units, ROTC and JROTC units, veteran groups, and other MOWW chapters.
The Peoria High School Air
Force Junior ROTC Color Guard will post the U.S. and Arizona colors and perform the Missing Man Table Ceremony.
Dr. Connie Maria- no, MD, FACP, Rear Admiral USN Re- tired, who served as a White House doctor for three United States’ presidents, will speak on “Life Lessons from
Military Service.”
The Desert Brass Band
will play a patriotic musical prelude at 11:15 a.m., during the
program, and Taps at the end to honor fallen service members. The ceremony begins at 11:45am and lasts roughly one hour at the Palm Ridge Recreation Center, 13800 W. Deer Valley Drive, Sun City West, AZ, 85375. This event is free and open to the public. Parking is plentiful and everything is on the first floor and wheelchair accessible.
