The “Honor Roll” memorial sits silently behind the This photograph shows the monument as it stands today after the changes that have taken place over the last 70 years.

memorial contains the names of men who attended
pilot training at Luke Field from 1941 to 1943 and
served in World War II as fighter pilots. Next to their
names are their graduating class and the decorations
received during combat.

The decorations listed on the plaques in-
clude the Medal of Honor, Distinguished
Service Cross, Silver Star, Distinguished
Service Medal, Purple Heart, Distinguished
Flying Cross, Soldiers Medal, Oak Leaf
Clusters and Air Medal.
