Q2 SPIRIT AWARD WINNER
Congratulations to Mark Crabbe, Ali Gray, Paul Isherwood, Ria Meredith, Laura Dunford, Michelle Mercury, Matt Wakelin, Victoria Gibson, Clare Murphy-Kirkhope, Lauchlan Millar, Rachael Tomlins and Lynne McAlpine who were our Q2 Spirit Award winners.
The team surpassed all expectations, responding to a challenge from
Bestway on 27th April 2020 to create a lemon variant,
offering an alternative to the category leader. In just nine weeks,
the cross functional team invented, produced, marketed and sold the new
WKD Lemon flavour which is an outstanding achievement in such a tight timeframe. In the first week, the customer sold 6,000 cases, with their
Trading Director reporting that the launch was, “the best Beers,
Wines & Spirits launch they have done to date.
The team were also awarded the overall Group winner. The creation of a lemon variant in such a tight timeframe is an outstanding achievement in itself. However, the judges were extremely impressed by how each team member embraced cross departmental working practices, showing responsiveness, creativity and professionalism at all times to make the product launch such a success. This team embodied all of our SPIRIT values in their response to a customer’s requirements surpassing their expectations and ensuring WKD Lemon was the customer’s
most successful launch to date. An exceptional performance
by the entire team.
