THE THREE OFFICERS: As if anything more could
startle them.
THEIR POINT OF VIEW: Frank's Merc spins to a stop on
the tarmac. Detective Frank Zabrinski jumps out, holding
his IV, arriving with a small army behind him.
FRANK:
Hey guys -- I brought you reinforcements.
Almost instantly they are all surrounded by HIGHWAY
PATROL and PHILLY SQUAD CARS, angry cops spilling
out with drawn guns like blue jacket army of old.
General Yeager looks in awe at his unlikely rescuer, then
steps between Frank and the Philly cops, raises his arm in
greeting, as the Police look on in bewilderment.
GEN.YEAGER

IN THE ENERGY SECRETARY'S OFFICE - NIGHT
We can only see the top of the head of ENERGY
SECRETARY JONES sunk in the deep cushions of his
leather chair, looking out over the blacked-out Capitol
building. His feet are resting on the window sill.
SECRETARY JONES: (into phone) It's out of our hands at
this point. I think you should continue on to the court and
swear him in as Acting President because unless we're all
bombed to death there will be a leadership vacuum. It
certainly isn't our Agency's fault that the missiles weren't
properly maintained. -- Oh come on Arthur, grow up. We
all have to die sometime.
