Thus, Castle Rock, Rob Reiner and Aaron Sorkin have acknowledged that the premise, story, and charactcr elements of "The Prcsident Elopes" were transmitted to them, orally and in writing, prior to Sorkin beginning work on his screenplay. It is now clear, however great the creative contributions of Sorkin and Reiner to the final shooting sc,ript, that "The American Prcsident" is an outgrowth of "The President Elopes" and" accordingly, that irreducible story crcdit is due Bill Richert and Kyle Morris. Because of the impending release of the film, and in light of what has now been established, we again rcspecdully demand immediate re-instatement of the irreducible story credit and commencement of a new arbitration.
Please advise me as soon as possible of the guild's proposed actions in this matter. As any further dclay will result in significant additional damage to my client, it is imperative that the guild.act immediately. Thank you for your and the guild's time in addressing this urgent srtuauon.
