requested base landing access, but I have as yet had no

response. In fact, I am getting a NO-FLY-BY code

response from the base. You don't think they'll shoot me

down, do you?

MILITARY AIR CONTROLLER'S VOICE: (not getting the

joke; over headphones) Have you iden-tified yourself?

GEN. YEAGER: Nobody seems to be listening.

MILITARY AIR CONTROLLER'S VOICE: At this

moment in time, I'm afraid you're on your own, General.

Frankly, we don't know what to tell you. This is one for

the books.

Gen. Yeager glances over at the control panel.

GEN. YEAGER: My instruments are being jammed. The

Base’s invisible tech is disabling radar. Please notify

General Jameson to contact homeland security. I am

invoking Code Seven Blackout of all flights into the

Philadelphia-New York corridor. That includes military,

commer- cial and small aircraft. I am going to get a

response from that air base installation down there.

DIGITAL AND ANALOG CONTROLS: All normal, except

for one, which pins out of control.

DARK SKY - NIGHT
