GEN. JAMESON: Hate to ask this of you Bif, but it’s from 

the supreme command -- they wonder if you might 

postpone your vacation a short while.



GEN. YEAGER: Why?



GEN. JAMESON: We've got a situation at Rockland, 

Pennsylvania. The Pentagon started downsizing the base 

and we think they may have uncovered some financial 


irregularities vis-̀-vis General Sorkin's weapons 

procurement system -- .



GEN. YEAGER: What kind of irregularities?



GEN. JAMESON: (unblinking) ) Somewhere in the 

neighborhood of sixteen billion dollars.



GEN. YEAGER: That is a high number of irregularities.



GEN. JAMESON The General’s financial numbers may be 

popping out due to reports the President intends to 

downsize the entire United States Air Force back to a 


branch of the Army --.


GEN. YEAGER: Never happen. They're dreaming.



GEN. JAMESON: Maybe. But with these two things 


combined, General Sorkin might go off the deep end. Bad 

news on a base that is an active nuclear attack response 

on stand-by.



GEN. YEAGER: Why don't you send in Special Forces? 



GEN. JAMESON: We already have.



GEN. YEAGER: And?



GEN. JAMESON: They never came out. General Sorkin
