2021 Lansing Branch NAACP Youth Council

Our vision is to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights and there is no racial hatred or racial
discrimination.
Our mission: Together with more than 2 million activists across the country we work to ensure the political,
educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all person and to eliminate racial hatred and racial
discrimination.
To make our vision a reality, we will:
• Participate in activities such as showing our black heritage by taking trips to Charles H. Wright Museum of African
Americans in Detroit, MI, African American Museum and MLK monument in our nation’s capital Washington D.C.
• Volunteer at local shelters.
• Fundraisers such as:
o Lansing Branch NAACP Youth Car washes
o Lansing Branch NAACP youth Instacart. Our youth will hand pick groceries, clothing, and fast foods (i.e. Red
Lobster, Saddleback BBQ, McDonald’s, etc.) delivered from your favorite local stores and restaurants.
• Create and donate Thanksgiving baskets to local shelters
• Classes such as:
o Table Setting/Gift-wrapping etiquette class
o Tax and money savings class
• Participate with get out to vote tables.
