LRCC Supports Small
Business Saturday
he Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce
(LRCC) was proud to support the tri-county
Tsmall business community once again for Small
Business Saturday on November 26.
Created in 2010 by American Express, this annual
shopping holiday occurs the Saturday after
Thanksgiving. It encourages shoppers to support small
businesses nationwide during one of the biggest
shopping periods of the year. American Express
recently released the results of its 2022 Small Business
Saturday Consumer Insights Survey, which found:
• 72% of shoppers said Small Business Saturday
makes them want to shop and dine at small,
independently-owned retailers and restaurants all
year long;
• Small Business Saturday drove an estimated $17.9
billion based on projections from U.S. consumer
reported spending, with more than two-thirds (72%)
of shoppers strongly agreeing they will continue to
Shop Small throughout the holiday season because
of the impact it has on their local community.
“Supporting our small businesses is always important
but even more so this year as companies navigate
continued challenges such as inflation, talent needs,
and supply chain concerns,” said Michelle Rahl, vice
president of membership and marketing for the
Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Our small
businesses bring the uniqueness and character to our
region and make the Greater Lansing region a more
engaging place to live, work, and raise a family.”
The LRCC supported Small Business Saturday as
a “Neighborhood Champion,” which provides the
organization with materials to distribute to select
businesses. The kit consisted of branded items to drive
awareness of Small Business Saturday.
The businesses that received the kits from the LRCC
include:
• Country Stitches
• The Peanut Shop
• Bradly’s Home and Garden
• Elderly Instruments
• Nothing Bundt Cakes
• Curvaceous Lingerie
• Impression 5 Science Center
• TinkrLAB
• Hyacinth House
