Smith was inspired by the activity and proactiveness of the LRCC. She
wanted to give back to the other members of the Chamber due to all of
the support she has received throughout her career from members of the
chamber.
“I really look forward to the business after-hours because of the networking
opportunities,” said Smith. “It’s a great opportunity to not only learn about
the member who is hosting the event, but also reacquaint yourself with
the other incredible members.”
Smith looks forward to using her marketing and public relations expertise
to assist the LRCC and its members. She plans to use her skills to
educate potential members about the financial, networking and growth
opportunities that come with being a member of the Chamber.
Networking is something that Smith is incredibly passionate about and she
hopes to use her platform as an ambassador to create connections to the
benefit of the Chamber and the greater Lansing region.
“My goal in serving on the Ambassadors committee is to attend a lot of the
events,” said Smith. “I hope to attend at least two of the after-hours events
each quarter as well as many of the other events such as ribbon cuttings
and ceremonies.”
Smith also serves as the Chair of the Lansing Area Veterans Coalition, an
organization whose sole purpose is to create and provide resources to
veterans and their families. She feels an incredible draw to serving those
who serve in the U.S. military. l
