PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“ The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. ” Isaiah 9:2
TO GOD: Righteous heavenly Father, thank you that even before creation you planned to send your Son into the world to be its Saviour.
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, may this Christmas be a genuine time of great joy. May your Light continue to dispel the darkness as we proclaim your Gospel in action, word and praise.
FOR THE WORLD: In our war-torn world, may multitudes turn to the Prince of Peace, to the One who bears the sins of the world and ushers in your shalom.
FOR OUR NATION: Father, Christmas can accentuate the brokenness of family life. In your grace, may forgiveness and love displace bitterness and hurt.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, as I walk in the light may I demonstrate that light to my friends in both word and deed.
FOR MYSELF: Lord God, I praise and worship you; rejoicing that a Saviour has been born to me; he is the Messiah, the Lord. Hallelujah! Amen.

PRAYER FOR PERSONAL COMMITMENT
A PROMISE FROM GOD TO CLAIM:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The Lord Jesus stands outside our lives longing to be invited into them, and to make his eternal life real for us. What do we have to do? Pray the following prayer as your personal response to God!
A PRAYER TO OFFER TO GOD:
‘Lord Jesus Christ, I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life. I ask for your forgiveness and turn from everything that I know is wrong. Thank you for dying on the Cross for me to set me free from my sins. Please come into my life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and be with me forever. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.’
A PATHWAY TO WALK WITH GOD:
Jesus calls you to be his friend and share your life with Him. He will guide and strengthen you. He will not fail you or abandon you (Deut 31:6). He wants you to trust Him and obey what He says. It is the start of an exciting new life.
If you have made a commitment to a personal faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, we would love to hear details of your journey. You can write to us at: Nationwide Christian Trust, Mulberry House, Chelmsford Road,
