 PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.”
Mark 15:38
TO GOD: Dear loving Father, thank you that the torn curtain declares that we can ‘approach your throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need’ (Hebrews 4:16).
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, may your church know and abide in the glory of your presence, bringing light to those around us.
FOR THE WORLD: Heavenly Father, we pray for countries suffering conflict, especially in the Middle East, DR Congo, Yemen, Ukraine and Sudan, and for the aid agencies seeking to provide help. Lord, please raise up peacemakers and touch the hearts of people of influence.
FOR OUR NATION: Lord Jesus, we pray for the laws which govern our country to be consistent with your Word; a defence for the defenceless and a help for the helpless.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, please may we take every opportunity to bear your presence into every circumstance we face today.
FOR MYSELF: Lord Jesus, I thank you and readily acknowledge that we are living stones, of the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 2:4-5; 1 Corinthians 6:19). Hallelujah! Amen.

crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.

9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. 11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.
