Saturday February 28 - The grace of Jesus
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen Revelation 22:21
Revelation concludes with a benediction: a prayer for the grace of the Lord Jesus to be with God’s people. How fitting that the last words of the book (and the Bible) should end with a prayer for grace!
The book of Revelation reveals the purpose of grace, namely a new heaven and a new earth, where God’s presence will be fully realised and his blessings will abound. It describes Christ’s ultimate victory over evil. It encourages believers to remain faithful, looking forward to Christ’s return – eagerly anticipating the day when we will reign with the Lord forever in heaven, together with the saints who have gone before.
This grace is the summation of God’s undeserved favour and his love, made available through Jesus Christ. It is central to our faith, highlighting that salvation is a divine gift, rather than something we can earn (Ephesians 2:8-9). Jesus’ death and resurrection personify this grace, offering us redemption and reconciliation (Romans 5:8). Such grace inspires righteous living and testifies of God’s power to transform broken lives.
Dear friend, as we finish our journey, if you are unsure of your standing before God, please consider speaking to a Christian friend or church leader. You can find a prayer of commitment on the reverse of this booklet; this could be your moment! Please feel free to contact us so that we may help you on your journey.
Heavenly Father, I praise and thank you for your transforming grace that is at work in my life. Amen.

PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll. Revelation 22:7
TO GOD: Father, we rejoice in the knowledge that ‘no matter how many promises you have made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God’ (2 Corinthians 1:20).
FOR THE CHURCH: Lord, forgive us when we think and behave as though you are not returning. May the scriptures awaken us from complacency.
FOR THE WORLD: Lord, the sound of the hooves of the horses of the apocalypse are approaching. May we go to the byways, seeking to compel people to come so that your house is full (Luke 14:23).
FOR OUR NATION: Thank you for those who are turning to you, especially the younger generation. Fill them with heavenly zeal that they might be discipled and find their calling in your Kingdom.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Show us how to model Jesus in friendship by investing time, prayer and attentiveness, knowing that friends are born for adversity (Proverbs 17:17).
FOR MYSELF: Lord Jesus, may my heart cry out, “Maranatha!” – “Even so Lord, come quickly” – and may my life mirror my cry for your glory.
     PRAYER
Father, please let me hear your voice anew as I study your word.
AMEN.
