PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
For your ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all your paths. Proverbs 5:21
TO GOD: Loving heavenly Father, we acknowledge your lordship and sovereignty over our lives, and choose to humble ourselves under your mighty hand (1 Peter 5:6).
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, forgive us for every act of prejudice and pride in which we elevate ourselves in judgement over others.
FOR THE WORLD: In our war-torn world, which seems to pride itself in bringing others down and elevating the self, please raise up peacemakers.
FOR OUR NATION: We pray for our leaders, especially those in government, ‘to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly’ (Micah 6:8).
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, I bring before you those who once walked with you but have fallen away. Touch their hearts, Lord; may they recall your goodness and return to you (Luke 15:11-32).
FOR MYSELF: Father, I want to take time to worship you for the wonder of Jesus who ‘emptied himself by taking the nature of a servant’ (Philippians 2:6). Amen.
PRAYER
Father, please bring joy through the comedy event with Paul Kerensa on 23rd April; a lightness for those who might be struggling.
AMEN.
