PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name...” Matthew 6:9
TO GOD: Holy Father, we thank you that you are constantly being worshipped by the heavenly hosts. We join with them in saying, “Hallowed be your name...”
FOR THE CHURCH: As the people called to be your ‘spiritual household’, we thank you for the privilege of joining in worldwide worship and the unity this engenders.
FOR THE WORLD: Father, we pray for all affected by war, earthquakes, famine, floods and fire, and for those struggling to survive, in material need, lacking food, water and healthcare.
FOR OUR NATION: Father, we pray for our elected representatives, whether in Parliament and local authorities, that they may implement policies which reflect your character and your heart.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, help us never to harm our friends by idle words, thoughtless actions, or unkind thoughts. We pray that through us you will open their eyes to your compassion and concern for them.
FOR MYSELF: Father, just that... “Father” – may I increasing know you as my loving, “Abba Father” and live accordingly as your chosen adoptive, blood-bought child. Amen.
NCT PRAYER
Father, please continue to reveal yourself to the many Prisoners who read Living Light. In Jesus name. AMEN.
