WRESTLING IN PRAYER
Rev. Ian Moore
EDITOR
I guess if we are honest, most of us would admit that praying is a struggle. I confess it is for me too. It is not that we do not know prayer is fundamentally
It's our sincere hope that as you walk with Jesus, day by day, you will become ”strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Putting on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:10,11). To God be the glory!
Be encouraged dear friend to believe that you can be a warrior of the Lord, knowing the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4).
Be blessed!
important, an essential discipline. Most of us long for more effective prayer lives, having tried countless times, seemingly without lasting success. There are more books, videos, sermons on prayer than any other subject, yet we still struggle. The whole thing is compounded by the sense of failure and guilt. We end up spiritually self- harming, believing we are failures. Yes, our faith is an issue, it always will be an issue, but the truth is prayer is a matter of kingdom warfare. It is a battle of gargantuan proportions between the powers of darkness and the Kingdom of God.
This battle was epitomised in the Garden of Gethsemane on the night before Jesus was crucified, Luke 22:44 records, “And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground”. On one hand prayer is conversational, yet at another level it is the cry of anguish. At whatever level, our enemy wants to stop us from praying and also prevent us hearing God’s answer.
