 PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“Whoever serves me must follow me...” John 12:26
TO GOD: Father, I thank you for calling us to follow, to walk with Jesus. This is the most marvellous invitation we could ever receive; to walk with the King of kings and eat at his table.
FOR THE CHURCH: Heavenly Father, may the church once again be known as those ‘belonging to the Way’ (Acts 9:2). Our faith is neither doctrine nor doing, but rather a living relationship!
FOR THE WORLD: We pray for ministries throughout the world, some clandestine, seeking sacrificially to spread the gospel, and often suffering persecution for Christ’s sake.
FOR OUR NATION: May Christ continue to empower his church to proclaim and demonstrate that he alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, may we be able to say, ‘Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ’ (1 Corinthians 11:1).
FOR MYSELF: Day by day, dear Lord, these three things I pray; to see thee more clearly, to love thee more dearly, to follow thee more nearly. Amen.
