        constantly changing biological, chemical, and physical environment. The course includes basic microbiology,
        cytology,  human  anatomy,  and human physiology.   Unit topics include: the living organisms; energy needs;

        In Horticulture, the students explore many topics both in the classroom and in the greenhouse. These
        topics range from plant physiology, adaptations for different environments, growth requirements (nutrients,
        soil, light, water, other environmental factors), choosing the correct plants for the local area, propagating
        and caring for both indoor and outdoor plants, integrated pest management, and utilization of the correct
        fertilizer. This course cannot count toward the science requirement for graduation.
