Transporter Talk No 144
SHOW REPORT – BRIGHTON BREEZE
The day started as a rather wet and windy a air along the sea front on Madeira Drive with people sheltering where they could. This didn’t stop people from coming though, the event was well attended as in previous years and included entrance for Dubbers heading down from London as part of the run or just those who wanted to turn up and join in.
The London to Brighton run also brought the weather down with them as once they had turned up, the weather turned and the afternoon was full of sunshine!
There were plenty of Split screens and Bay Windows in attendance, but it was also nice to see so many later transporters in attendance and other variants of VW such as Beetles, Buggies, Ghias and Type 3’s.
The organisation was excellent this year and included a change where those who had participated in the run from London were reserved spaces in the middle of show area, rather than up the end out of the way.
There was a good amount of trade stands and autojumble available this year too, something that seemed to be lacking in previous years.
We always enjoy Brighton Breeze, especially as it is local to us! But it is also a really relaxed day and you feel like you are playing a huge role in the whole show as you turn up and park together to take over Brighton Seafront! We will be doing the show again next year and hope to see some other VWT2OC members there.
