Having owned my 1971 VW for 44 years, you’d think by now I would be happy with it. Up until recently the one thing that always bugged me was the screen wash bottle that has to be pumped up by hand with air to 42 psi and even then the water coming out of the jet holes onto the windscreen leaves a lot to be desired.
Well no more. Just Kampers now sell a replacement bottle with a built in electric pump for £59.95 (J14208). I got my local VW garage to t it and now I can squirt away to my heart’s content. If, like me, you tire (no pun intended) of having to
pump the pressure in your bottle to get a little squirt, I’d certainly
recommend you go for the upgrade. Many Thanks, Ian Crawford

Hi Ian,
This looks like a fantastic idea and something that we think will de nitely interest club members! We also found a kit for ’50-’67 vans with Just Kampers for £59.75 (J16692).

I have just read an article in the last issue of TT magazine about insulation and heating. I have been using Wickes shed insulation for about 8 years now and have found it to be very e ective. I just cut the insulation with scissors to a size slightly larger than required and then tuck the excess material into the window rubbers.
Never had any problems and it is very cost e ective. Nice and cosy!

Hi Ian,
This sounds like an excellent idea. Not dissimilar from using radiator foil, but worth a try next time the cold weather looms (hopefully it’ll start to warm up now!)
