Don Mortimer – 1972 Coupé
For this edition of Member’s Motor, Don Mortimer tells us a little about his 1972 T14 Coupé.
My route to owning a Karmann Ghia was different to some of the others that appear in Karmann Komment. My father bought the car brand new in August 1972 from Jim Alves ltd, Street, Somerset with discount for £1,575.
He passed it on to me in April 2003.
It came to me with a known history and provenance, the potential ravages of time having been kind, plus my father always kept the car garaged and was well looked after by him, therefore the KG has kept most of its originality, only replacing parts through normal wear, has taken place.
