a suitable quality replacement hose.
I would have found it hard to believe that if in 1972 I was told some 49 years or so later, that I would still be enjoying the Karmann Ghia and that it would give me an even bigger smile when I use it. I obtained my full driving licence November 1973. I cannot remember the first time I drove the KG, over the years though I have driven the car many times and have been driven by my father who has sadly passed away, but his superb KG and the memories
it creates carry on - priceless.

It now has just over 108,000 recorded miles. With a record of virtually everything done to the car from new.
Arnie Levic was the Service Manager at Jim Alves in 1972. His card is still in the VW SERVICE RECORD and with it is the VW DIAGNOSIS PUNCH CARD BOOKLET model year 1972
for this particular VW.
Arnie has moved on and now has his own garage maintenance business, still in Street. He is still involved, but his son Andrew Levic now runs it. Not long after receiving the KG in 2003, a discussion with Andrew regarding distributor condensers, not lasting long, concluded that they may look the same on the outside, but
it is the inside where quality counts and they were able to offer better quality, longer lasting parts. They have become my go to for spares. I sympathetically keep as much originality in
