ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING REPORT continued...
Despite not having any events to assist, we have initiated three “post a picture with most likes gets the background image”. This has also given content for the club magazine and Instagram images to promote.
Phil Aldridge, who joined us as Editor
at the start of last year, has managed
to enhance the production of Karmann Komment, despite the lack of much in the way of current club events, utilising professional graphical design input. He is always looking for more suggestions and content from members and as it hopefully becomes possible to organise and attend events in the latter half of 2021 (all things remaining on track)
this will help.
Changes
John Figg, the T14 Register Officer, has decided the time has come for him to hand over the Register reins. Guy Hartley has offered to take this on. Our Club Shop Officer, Peter Reilly, has signalled his intention to step down during the year to pursue a new challenge.
On behalf of the Committee, I would like to thank each officer for their efforts to support the Club through the extreme events of the last 12 months.
Support for Charities
The curtailment of Club events has unfortunately had a practical impact on the proposed fundraising activity planned to support our chosen charity the MEA. The Treasurer’s report will identify the contribution we are able to make this year.
Future
We are continuing to look for members to represent the Club directly at Committee Officer level, support events, as well as displaying their car. If you can help with this, then please contact Clive Richardson.
There are opportunities for Regional Officers to promote activity at a regional level and if you have a particular skill or contacts that could help promote the club generally, then please contact me at chair@kgoc-gb.org.
The Club has invested in upgrades
to the Club website to improve the
user experience and integration into WebCollect, as well as looking to set up a forum capability for members only.
We have also committed to advertisements in classic car magazines promoting club membership. A number of magazines have struggled during the last year, whilst others have sought us out to run articles about the Karmann Ghia, to which we have provided input as well as taking full page advertising adjacent.
