04 | SETTLING INTO UK LIFE
SETTLING INTO YOUR NEW SCHOOL / COLLEGE LIFE IN THE UK
Settling into a new way of life in the UK at your school or college may not always be easy and it may be the case that at first you feel home sick. This is quite normal and you will not be the only person feeling like this. Being away from your friends and family can be hard to cope with but if you feel upset or sad please let someone know. Talk to the staff in the boarding house / school / college or College Guardians. It’s quite usual to feel like this and these feelings will pass as you adapt to your new environment.
Make sure that you keep in-touch with your family and friends at home. They will want to know how you are and will understand that you are missing them .We very much hope that you will find many new experiences and make long lasting friendships during your stay in the UK.
ARRIVAL
Whatever your plans are you should have been given details of where and how to find your driver / transport. If you have any problems please let either the school / college or College Guardians know. DO NOT go off with anyone if you are not sure who they are.
Please ensure that you keep your passport and other travel documents safe until you arrive at your destinations. If you already have a UK mobile please switch it on at this time, making sure that it has been charged before you left home.
To follow are some practicable tips
that may help when you first arrive in the UK and during the time that you are studying here.
