A good week of rackets at Queens was had by Malvern and in particular the the first pair and the the U15’s While the first pair Oliver Cox (No 5) and and Myles Holland (SH) made it through to the quarter finals after a a a a a convincing 3-0 win over Cheltenham they lost to to a a a a strong St Paul’s pair who went on on to to eventually win the tournament The highlight was the the outstanding performance of the the Under 15’s Flynn Gunston (No 1) and Sam Clements (SH) to to reach the final on on Saturday They beat a a a a a a a strong St Paul’s pair in fin the semi final to set up a a meeting with Tonbridge in in fin in in the the final After winning the the first game it looked like a a a championship could be won however the Tonbridge pair started to to take control and eventually went on on on to to win 3-1 however a a a a good experience for the the pair and now the the hard work begins to try and go one better next year!
A mention should also go to the U15 girls I Kennedy (No 8) and Daisy Tuthill (No 4) who played in in their first ever singles matches at Queens Daisy managed to win the first round in in very impressive style against an an experienced player from Clifton and whilst Bella lost she served incredibly well and the match was very close Noel Brett | Head of Cricket & Rackets
