Physical Education and Sports Science
In February the physical education and sports science department travelled to Worcester University for their annual excursion on on how knowledge from lessons can be applied more practically but also applied beyond the the realms of the the specification Pupils experienced three educational workshops on on physiological biomechanical and psychological elements learning something different from each The physiology workshop gave opportunity for one pupil to have their VO2 max tested accurately as as well as as testing their lactate threshold – two key indicators of aerobic performance The biomechanics experience investigated how movement can be tracked effectively in in in in a a a a a a a laboratory setting and and then may impact and and inform sporting performance whilst the psychology lecture looked at stress and anxiety and how we can best manage our own emotions during various scenarios Simon Woodward | Head of Academic PE
Junior House Netball
House House No 3 were were the the the the proud winners of the the the the Junior House House Netball
They were were second in in the the the the Senior Competition but sadly Annie the the the the school captain of netball netball had had to cheer from the the sideline because she had had suffered injury at netball netball training the the night before!
