Bonfire Night Sat 6th November
After not being able to have it last year, we were delighted to be able to host our famous Bonfire Night Party once again. We had a fantastic turnout of over 300 children and adults. We enjoyed an impressive bonfire adorned with the winning Guys created by Sholto and Pippa. Their prize was to help the Headmaster light the bonfire! We enjoyed hot dogs, toffee apples and mulled wine and cider for the adults. We then retreated up the hill to look out at a spectacular firework display over our iconic floodlit Clock Tower. What a fantastic evening. Thank you all for coming and to all the staff who made it happen!
Remembrance Day
A few days later, on Thursday 11th November, we gathered by the Clock Tower again to remember those who have given their lives over the years for our freedom. We listened to some beautifully delivered readings and prayers before the Headmaster read out the names of the 85 Old Abberlians who fell during the first and second world wars. The service then ended with a two-minute silence as the clock struck 11am and then a moving rendition of The Last Post.
