NEW EVENTS MANAGER – LORNA WILLIAMSON
Hello Campers!
As your new events person, I wanted to share a little bit about myself, about camping, and to invite you to help me set up the sort of events you will want to join.

So about me; I’ve spent 30 years in the commercial world, but now focus more on health and wellbeing, whilst indulging my passion for performing easy-going jazz songs, swing and soul - sometimes when I’m not camping, and sometimes when I am!
Obviously, our bus is another passion. She’s called Poppy and has been part of our small family for ve years, sitting in her carport and looking cute, trying to entice us out and about to sit in various elds sharing and comparing our breakdown stories with those of other people.
My hubby, Nick and I only started visiting VW events in the past few years. This led us into the VWT2OC and all of the fabulous opportunities for connection with others that brings. We’ve already learned so much from the assembled wisdom of other members and have made some real friends. The Club has obviously been attending events for years, for social get-togethers and to bring in new members; my aim is to support the continuance of those good things in a way that makes members want to come along.
I want to do this by:
Identifying the most relevant VW events that are run by others, from the current list of well over 100, for:
– Club Camps/socials
– Generating new memberships
Asking members to suggest Events that we might want to attend as a Club
Asking members to suggest venues for Club Camps
Using mapping technology to re ne our decisions, based on member locations
I’m just about at the stage of understanding where we are so far and it will take me a while to get a full plan together with the committee, but I hope this introduction gives you an idea of where I’m coming from in o ering support to your Club events.
