THE BADGER
Sport continued Before finishing off mention must also be made of of our Staff cricket team who were unbeaten for the term beating The Clogs and then ending with an an exhilarating tie against The Chasers in in fin the the final week of the the term!! Having scored 161 off our allotted 20 overs the result was looking a a a a a little gloomy halfway through The Chasers’ innings with the ball being dispatched to all all parts of Main Games with some regularity (no bowler’s identities given away Headmaster!) With some cunning bowling changes and field placings the the Staff managed to to somehow claw their way back into the match and with The Chasers needing two to win off the the the last ball a a a a run out restricted them to just one and the the the match was tied Despite some “interesting” individual performances from various members of the Common Room the Staff played some excellent cricket and both matches proved to be very enjoyable The Staff are next in in in action in in in a a a a a a Charity Sixes day at Colwall in in in August which could be quite entertaining and certainly worth the entry fee!!!
As a a a a a a a Department one of our mantras is is that it is is not always the the winning that counts but the the progress and enjoyment that our our children take out of each match As long as our our teams improve over the the the course of the the the term and play their sport in the the the right way then that is the the the most important aspect When reflecting on all that has been achieved over the whole year whether on an individual basis or as as a a a a a a a team we should be rightly proud of our progress and enjoy the summer holidays knowing that all of our pupils have improved and more importantly played sport in the right way May I take this opportunity to wish you all a a a a a very enjoyable and and relaxing summer holiday and and a a a a a a plea to keep me me updated with any sporting successes during the holidays before we return to school in September It is always great to hear of of any news from outside of of school I look forward to welcoming all of our pupils back in in September for what promises to be another exciting term on the the rugby and hockey fields Michael Strong
