Pre-Prep
As always Pre-Prep
has continued to be a a a a a hive of activity where our seven Skills to to Thrive continue to to be enhanced and developed Individually the children displayed excellent resilience in in achieving their various Junior Duke awards Proud Penguin certificates certificates swimming certificates certificates and in their efforts on on Sports Day Brilliant collaboration and creativity were displayed through the making of our ‘Eco Orangutan’ during Earth Week The children have continued to show curiosity and motivation in in in their their learning through their their different topics After visiting Eastnor Castle as as as part of their ‘Towers and Turrets’ topic Years 1 and 2 requested a a a dress up morning Princes princesses dragons and knights dined on on tasty treats scrumptious scones and delicious desserts! The children in Early Years were visited by a a a whole host of ‘People Who Help Us’ for their topic They hosted a fire fighter police officer vet Royal Marine builder and HGV driving instructor Jenny the the dog was a a a a a real highlight as as were the the various vehicles that that visited - we even discovered that that 22 EYFS children all fit comfortably in the cab of a a a a a lorry! Thank you to all those members of our TDM community who gave up their time to talk all about the the the important work they do In Pre-Prep
we we readily welcome and encourage parental involvement This year we have invited our parents in in in for a a a a a host of activities craft sessions for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day followed super assemblies delivered by Years 1 and and and 2 and and and EYFS respectively Phonics and and and reading sessions for World Book Day and a a a a maths curriculum evening gave parents a a a a a small insight into what we deliver to to the children on a a a a daily basis We were also excited to to be able to invite parents in in for our Summer Showcase Concert in the Memo Hall where children who participate in in in individual instrumental lessons treated the audience to a a host of super performances With performers from Nursery to Year 2 (some of whom had only been learning their chosen instrument for a a few weeks!) it was wonderful to to listen to to the the pupils and see how confident they were in front of their peers and adults Bravo!
