As always the Summer Term is all about reflecting on the the achievements of the the previous year whilst also looking ahead to to September Year 2 are looking forward to to their new chapter in in the Prep
School following successful taster mornings ‘over the road’! Children from Nursery-Year 1 are looking forward to to moving up into their next class and the the new responsibilities and privileges these bring from holding doors after lunch walking the youngest pupils back to to the department or being able to to finally play on the ‘big’ climbing frame! Children remaining in in in in Nursery are looking forward to another year of active learning playing and exploring in in in in our inspiring EYFS The Summer Term ended in fin a a a a grand finale with this year’s Summer Soirée ‘Croak’! Sunbeams frogs and minibeasts danced and and sang with enthusiasm and and delighted an an an an an audience of parents siblings and staff It was the perfect way to to round off the the year and we look forward to to all of of the the new challenges and adventures that September will bring Well done Pre-Prep!

EYFS Academic Report
The 2022-23 season has been one of great progress and ongoing success In addition to the many scholarship triumphs where from an academic perspective each of our candidates was successful in in in gaining either a a a a a a Scholarship or or Exhibition to their chosen school we have been working hard to to take our school forward and look to to the future I should at this time pay homage to our Year 8s and their teachers as each each and every one of the cohort gained entry to their their first choice schools as a a a result of their their exam success and academic progress Behind the scenes teachers have been working hard to enhance their use of data aligning standardised assessments with our own attainment scores to allow recognition of of the progress of of each and every child This allows us to explore and uncover both what is working and what we have to to do to to support children who need additional input A Teaching and Learning Toolkit group has also engaged regularly with all teachers to keep us abreast of evidence-based research to enhance our provision in the classroom Use of laptops has proved very successful with Year 8 with all of our leavers being upskilled and having a a a a a firm grip on on their IT skills as they move on on to senior schools where this is is increasingly becoming the normal way of working To take this further we will be rolling out the the use of such devices to Year 7 from September Establishing Personal Project Qualifications (PPQs) in in History and and Theology Philosophy and and Religion (TPR) has proved a a a tremendously positive addition to the assessment of of Year 8 where children take ownership of of a a a a project and develop skills such as research sourcing validating concluding and evaluating These fundamental skills will be further developed lower down the the the school in the the the very near future Our new SENDCo Mrs Ainsworth has also had a a a a tremendous impact on on on the quality of provision not only in the production of clear ‘Pupil Passports’ outlining requirements for those children with additional learning needs but also in in working with teachers to develop ‘quality first’ teaching strategies for all pupils 3
